Hi,
it would be really helpful if the description stored in a book’s metadata could be made accessible throughout the interface, not just in the Discover section.
For example by displaying the description in the right-hand information panel and/or make it available as an (optional) column in the list view.
At the moment, a description is only visible when browsing in Discover: clicking on a book opens the Quick View panel, where the description is shown. However, once you move to Library or My Shelves, this information is no longer accessible. This makes it difficult to manage a large library, because the description is often one of the most useful pieces of metadata for identifying, sorting and deciding which book you want to read.
Being able to see the description directly in the Library would make the app much more useful as a replacement for other library managers. This is genuinely the only reason I haven't switched my whole library from Calibre to BookShelves yet.

Hi, thank you for the detailed feedback. You are right -- the book description is currently not visible in the macOS inspector panel.
We are adding a description section to the inspector sidebar so you can see it at a glance when browsing your library. This is on our roadmap.
