Macos chapters interface won't scroll to show all chapters

When viewing the chapters listing on MacOS, the first batch of chapters come up, but the interface won't scroll down to reveal more chapters.

If you hit the bookmarks icon while the chapters interface is open, then try scrolling down the now-overlaid-bookmarks interface, the chapters window (behind the bookmarks window) extends downward and seems to populate to show chapters, but then scoots backup behind the bookmarks interface.

Thanks for this, and especially for the bookmarks-overlay observation. That's a really useful clue: it tells me the chapters are loading correctly, and the bug is in how the chapters popover sizes its scrollable area. The popover seems to be capped at a fixed height instead of letting the inner list scroll within it. I've logged it and will get a fix into an upcoming release.

A workaround in the meantime:

If you make the BookShelves window taller (drag the bottom edge of the window down to nearly fill your screen) before opening the chapters list, the popover should grow with it and reveal more chapters. Not a fix, but it should let you reach the rest of the TOC for now.

A couple of details that would help me reproduce it precisely:

Roughly how many chapters does the book have?
Which book? If it's something common (Project Gutenberg, a specific publisher) I can grab the same one.
What's your screen resolution / how tall is the BookShelves window when you see the issue?
If easy, a short screen recording (Cmd+Shift+5 on macOS) showing the scroll attempt plus the bookmarks-overlay trick. You can attach it to a feedback submission.
