Hide top bar on iPhone and iPad

I am mostly using this app to read PDFs on iPad. When I open a US Letter sized PDF on my iPad, the top of the screen still shows the standard iPad top bar with the  clock, wifi icon, etc. Could you please hide that so that all I see on the screen is the book I am reading?
